Noni Hub partnered with the Coalition for Positive Impact to organize the 4th edition of the Igniting Dreams seminar.
The Igniting Dream Seminar is an event that creates a unique opportunity for young people to converge and be empowered, mentored, and inspired on a common dais. As part of the seminar, cash prizes are awarded to young entrepreneurs. The CPI team shortlisted five (5) finalists to compete for the grand prize. Noni Hub. Hosted the finalists and took them through a three-week of intensive business incubation. During the incubation, the participants acquired skills on Business model canvas, Concept note writing, public speaking, and how to pitch their businesses to prospective investors.
This year’s seminar which was themed “wealth creation through financial literacy” and with over 300 participants was held on the 8th of January at Sem-B lodge, Wa, where young people were trained on ways of creating and sustaining wealth through financial literacy. It featured experts like; Dr. Nansata Yakubu, a Development Consultant, Mr. Selasie Seth Ahadzie who is a Tax Consultant, and Mr. Nasiru Sumaila, a Financial and Cost Accounting Tutor at the Daffiama Senior High. A panel discussion was held on the theme with Mr. Jeremiah Afako as the moderator, Dr. Nansata Yakubu, Mr. Salasie Seth Ahadzie, Madam Marceline, and Mr. Nasiru Sumaila as the panelist. The seminar climaxed with a pitch completion among the five (5) finalists, Dumba Portia, Wendy Baonluri, Dumba Cajetan, Eric Katon, and Atingawaya Patricia. The seminar provided seed funding to three of the finalist worth GHS11500.00.
Atingawaya Patricia representing Smart Innovations, a digital media organization won the gold prize worth Six Thousand Ghana cedis (GHS6000.00), Dumba Portia CEO of Favours Enterprise won Silver Prize worth Three thousand Ghana cedis (GHS3000.00), and Dumba Cajetan, Founder of Plan B Solutions won the People’s Choice award winner also received amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred Ghana cedis (GHS2,500).
The Programme also awarded five (5) astute entrepreneurs in the “Excellence in Business and Leadership” category. This year’s awardees were selected from five categories namely, Agribusiness, Education, Healthcare, Fashion & Tourism, and the Young Entrepreneur of the year. The awardees include Mr. Ibrahim Osman – Young Entrepreneur, Madam Asana Ismail – Fashion and Tourism, Alhaji Antiku Abdulai – Agribusiness, Mr. Mumuni Adams – Education, and Dr. Ibrahim Donkor Muslim – Healthcare.
